Care & Cleaning
All my jewelry is crafted with 925 sterling silver, though some pieces may also include copper or brass (specific materials are listed in each item’s description). Over time, these metals can naturally tarnish, which causes discoloration. This process can occur more quickly without proper jewelry care.
Many of my pieces feature patina as part of the finishing process, which creates intentional darkened areas to enhance depth and definition. Patina may fade or wear off over time if not properly maintained. If your patina needs refreshing, feel free to contact me—I can restore it for a fee.
To keep your jewelry looking its best and minimize tarnish or patina fading, please follow these care tips:
- Avoid water exposure: Remove your jewelry before swimming, bathing, washing dishes, or using hot tubs, as water (especially chlorinated) can damage it.
- Keep away from chemicals: Protect your jewelry from cleaning products, cosmetics, perfumes, and hair sprays. Always put your jewelry on last when getting ready.
- Remove during exercise: Sweat can accelerate tarnishing, so take off your jewelry before working out.
- Clean regularly: Use a special silver cleaning cloth to remove tarnish.
If your jewelry contains stones, handle them with care. Avoid dropping or striking the stones, as this can cause damage. Please note, I am not responsible for any damage that occurs after the jewelry has left my care.
